Another week and, I am sorry to say, yet another change to how OTT will be operating, for the foreseeable future. After a lot of soul searching, number crunching, and talks between ourselves, we have come to the difficult conclusion that we should not be open in Calstock or Callington for now. Not only are we putting ourselves at risk but also encouraging people to make unnecessary journeys for a product that is not essential, calm down I know we Cornish think pasties are, but for now maybe not. We do not want to be contributing to the problem of the souring covid 19 infection rate in Cornwall. It is not all bad news, we shall be offering a frozen delivery service locally on Wednesdays. The minimum order is four pasties, if you are elderly we may be able to make exceptions and deliver less, just message us. Ordering can be done via private message on Facebook, telephone when we are in the unit, or via our website www.overthetopcornishpasties.co.uk. If ordering via our website just choose click and collect at the checkout and in the notes, box put your delivery address and phone number.Deliveries can also be collected from our Callington unit on a Wed, pre-ordering is essential and you will need to ring the bell outside to be served. We hope we get a good uptake on this service and that it helps reduce a few trips out in the local area.Stay in and stay safe, the OTT team
We were suprised and delighted to see that we had won the Parkdeans best pasty shop in Cornwall on their pasty trail. They used both trip advisor and google reviews to see which pasty shop came out on top and it was us! This is the first time we have had any recognition, in the way of awards for all our hard work and we are thrilled.
We feel we have come a long way from three of us standing in my little cottage kitchen making ten to twenty pasties a day to today when we employ six other people and make almost a thousand pasties a week. It has been hard, physically and mentally but it has also been exciting and thrilling to see it grow. We have worked very hard to keep the quality of our product as we increase our output and we shall continue to stick to the same high standard that we started with.
We know our pasties are not as cheap as many of the larger firms but we are not mass producing 30,000 pasties a week and our are larger than most with a higher meat content. We feel this is reflected in the superb taste of our pasties.
If you have not tried an OTT pasty yet, please do, you shall not be dissapointed.
